Antivirus Software Review
It is crucial to select the right antivirus program, because malware and other digital threats are rising. It should protect multiple platforms and devices while running in the background and not interfere with the normal flow of your computing experience. It should also provide multilayered protection, such as firewalls, antimalware, as well as other security measures. Select a software that has similar lab test results and a simple user interface. Consider bundling the program with additional features such as parental controls, the use of a VPN or a password manager.
Free antivirus software like Microsoft Defender is a good place to start. It’s built into Windows and is easy to set up, but it doesn’t offer all the online protections offered by some programs. AVG is a great option for those who want some extra power. AVG’s free antivirus software is easy to manage and its Internet Security plan expands on it with additional protections for mobile devices, the use of a VPN and password management.
Another excellent option is Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition. It’s simple to install and forget about. It also offers many additional features like PC tools that cleanse your system and erase files with security. The full scan took about 25 minutes to complete but it was able find every threat we put at it.
Intego VirusBarrier is the best antivirus program for Mac users. It’s reliable, looks the part and comes bundled with other security tools such as parental controls, a secure web browser and credit monitoring. Its scans have little impact on performance and are quick. However it could be more thorough in terms of protecting against ransomware and other advanced threats.
